Phil Barry
BIO

Phil got his start touring and recording with Michigan rock band Knee Deep Shag. In 2005, after four albums and thousands of shows, the band went on an indefinite hiatus and Phil spent the better part of a year playing guitar for Warner Bros. recording artist Rachael Yamagata. With Rachael he toured Europe and the States including extended tours with Ryan Adams and Ray Lamontagne, and also played some noteworthy festivals such as Glastonbury and Austin City Limits.
Since then Phil has released his first solo album Between The Carolinas on Hey Burner! Records.  It's a haunted batch of folk-rock road songs, written and recorded on a beat up 1977 Guild D-25 acoustic guitar. The song "Goodbye is Not the End" was recently featured on the season finale of MTV's Real World: Cancun.  Currently Phil splits his time between folk super group the Corn Fed Girls, quilting and solo work.
